In the Altstadt (Old Town), central Marienplatz square contains landmarks such as Neo-Gothic Neues Rathaus (town hall), with a popular glockenspiel show that chimes and reenacts stories from the 16th century.

Day 1: Arrival in Munich

• Fly into Munich and check into your hotel
• Spend the day exploring the city on foot or by public transport (such as the U-Bahn or S-Bahn)
• Visit Marienplatz, Frauenkirche, and the famous Hofbräuhaus beer hall for dinner and a pint of beer.

Day 2: Tour of Munich and surroundings

• Take a guided walking tour of Munich to learn about its history and culture.
• After the tour, take a train to Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site, located about 20 minutes away from Munich, and learn about the history of the Holocaust.
